Zoals wij al eerder hebben aangegeven woedt er een mediaoorlog tegen Israël. Ook in de huidige crisis worden er via de media allerlei aanvallen gedaan en leugens gelanceerd of zonder te checken van de Palestijnen overgenomen met als doel Israël in een kwaad daglicht te stellen.
Het is de aloude antisemitische riedel, Israël (de Joden) krijgen de schuld van alles.
Dit is in de Libanonoorlog gebeurd. Het verhaal en de film over het jongetje Mohammed Dura, die door Israëlisch geweervuur zou zijn omgekomen, is over de hele wereld met afgrijzen ontvangen. Later bleek dat dit door de Palestijnen en scene was gezet.
Ook nu vreest Israël dat de Hamas erop uit is de wereld gruwelbeelden van burgerslachtoffers, liefst van kinderen, te laten zien. Onderstaand lijst toont aan hoe voorzichtig Israël probeert de zich de moordenaars van het lijf te houden. Palestijnse burgers worden telefonisch en per pamflet gewaarschuwd. Zieken, vooral kinderen worden opgevangen. Voedsel wordt doorgestuurd. Een hulporganisatie meldde Israël dat ze geen voedsel meer sturen omdat de pakhuizen in Gaza vol waren. Zie verder onderstaande lijst. Daaruit blijkt dat Israël land geeft en haat terugkrijgt. Voedsel en hulp stuurt of doorlaat en raketten terugkrijgt. Mensenlevens probeert te redden maar de dood terugkrijgt.

Op 27 december, begon Israël defensieve operaties om de door Iran gesteunde terroristische infrastructuur van Hamas in Gaza te ontmantelen en zo deze terroristische groepering te doen stoppen met haar 8-jaar durende campagne van aanvallen op Israëlische burgers met 10.000 raketten, raketten en mortieren. [1]
Ondanks de niet aflatende raketaanvallen van Hamas, gaat Israel door met het faciliteren van humanitaire hulp aan de Palestijnen in de Gazastrook tevens waarschuwt zij de Palestijnse bevolking weg te blijven van 'terroristische sites'. De Israelische minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Tzipi Livni heeft gezegd; "Israël heeft duidelijk gemaakt dat we strijden tegen het terrorisme, niet de ingezetenen van Gaza, en de extremisten zijn degenen die de bezorgdheid van de humanitaire organisaties en de internationale gemeenschap gebruiken als een drukmiddel tegen Israël."
